An Overdue Update

Apologies for the delay in posting this update. A lot has gone on "behind the scenes" both personally and on this front.

The survey has been running for a few months now, and has had a total 299 responses as of writing this very line. On the whole, there has been a very positive response to the idea of this project.
Obviously, some have had their queries, and quite rightly so.

Whilst modellers seem very keen for a model of this class to be released, the crowd funding initiative is the stumper, and understandably so. To part with funds in advance of a product that may be years off completion, especially if there's a chance that said item may not actually happen in the end, will always have people cautious. Obviously, if it failed, then each donor would receive their money back.

For reasons of their own that I cannot disclose at the moment, the Holden F5 Steam Loco Trust have had to withdraw their direct involvement in the project, meaning I have been going at this solo for a while.

Unfortunately, whilst a positive response from the majority, I personally feel that, at this moment in time, there is not sufficient interest in a crowd-funded model of the F5 Class. This is not to say, however, that the project ends here. I am keen to see a model of the class produced, and will continue to look at it for some time yet.

In the meantime, I have other plans and ambitions, which I hope will eventually lead to my project here being realised.

This is not the end of the F5 Model Project, but merely a minor setback...

All Quiet On The Eastern Front...

First off, a belated Happy New Year to those following the project.

Things have been taking place in the background of the project - the nitty gritty important stuff that I won't bore you all with. I will, however, say that we should hopefully have an update soon.

The project has been mentioned recently in several model and heritage railway magazines, which has boosted survey responses well. All seems to be fairly positive on this front, which is promising. This doesn't necessarily mean the project has a green light - what people say and what people mean are two different things, but at least we can see there is interest out there.

Potentially exciting times lay ahead; stay tuned.
